Enviromental monitoring device
The new device for the environmental monitoring is designed for the selective detection of BTEX (Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Xylene) in air at ppb levels. The device is equipped with a MEMS preconcentrator unit filled with a quinoxaline cavitand. The quinoxaline cavitandi is selective towards aromatic compounds and completely insensitive towards the principle interferents in air, like water, NOx, SOx and aliphatic hydrocarbons. During the analysis, the device entraps only the aromatic pollutants. After heating, the entrapped compounds are released and analyzed through a PID detector. The device is miniaturized, it has low energy consumption, it is long lasting and the analysis time is fast (1 analysis/30 minutes).
ISENose2000
ISENose2000 is a sensorial Artificial Olfactory System (Metal Oxide Semiconductors) which can have 6 or 12 sensors for the survey and recognition of odors.
The system has an auto sampler , a heater for the samples and a management software for data elaboration, which is able to analyze the data using the most common statistical methods. All these things make the instrument extremely versatile and easy to use, both in research and study activities, and in industrial applications. In fact, the instrument has a high sensitivity and is able to quickly distinguish changes or the presence of defects in products or prime materials, without the necessity of preparing samples.
ISENose2000, specifically registered for food packaging quality control and for the analysis of the quality of olive oil, is already a reality, and referenced clients are already using it in their companies.
ISENose2000 is a valid instrument for research in agencies, institutes or groups which deal with problems linked to olfactory aspects and which need to substitute organoleptic panel tests in routine analysis with an objective, low cost and immediate analysis .
Depending on the needs, personalized, easy to use software is developed which can be adapted to the end user even with a CQ which is not expert.
